Days 1-2DubrovnikOrange terracotta roof tiles, white stone houses and ancient ramparts make Dubrovnik a delightful place to visit. Arrive early to see the sights, including the imposing 16-sided Onofrio Fountain and the view from the top of the city walls. Tonight, stay among local families and experience true Croatian hospitality.
Day 3UlcinjThe southernmost city on the Montenegrin coast, Ulcinj is bordered by long, sandy beaches and sparkling seas. Velika Plaza (literally, Big Beach) has sands that are believed to hold potent healing powers - a great excuse to lie back and relax.
Days 4-5TiranaAlbania's compact capital is best explored on foot. Turkish and Italian influences are apparent in the city's architecture and the exquisite Et'hem Bey Mosque is a must-see for its intricate frescoes.
Day 6BeratThought to be one of the oldest cities in the country, Berat is better known to Albanians as the City of a Thousand Windows. With an incredible concentration of historical buildings including a magnificent fortress, medieval citadel and mosque, there's much to explore here.
Days 7-8GjirokastraWander this perfectly preserved Ottoman town and unravel its tumultuous history starting with a visit to the central 13th century citadel, now the Museum of Armaments.
Days 9-10SarandaGateway to the beautiful Albanian Riviera, Saranda is a lively seaside town full of Mediterranean-flavoured cafes and bars.
Day 11-12CorfuSickle-shaped Corfu is home to a pretty harbour, World Heritage-listed Old Town and miles of incredibly scenic coastline. Stroll along the elegant Liston perhaps, or delve into the myths of ancient Greece with a trip to the Archaeological Museum.
Day 13DelphiAncient Greeks believed that Delphi was the centre of the earth, and the ruins that remain of the old city include impressive temples, treasuries and an amphitheatre that could seat 5,000.
Days 14-15AthensThe journey ends in Athens, a sprawling metropolis over 3,000 years old. Make sure to sample scrumptious Greek cuisine and also to visit the Parthenon for a wonderful panorama of the city.
