| Days 4-5 | Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius | The ruins of Pompeii capture a single moment in time - the day the entire city was destroyed by a massive volcanic eruption 1928 years ago. The town's remains lay covered in ash until its re-discovery in the 18th century. Wander through these amazing ruins before trekking up the sleeping giant of Mount Vesuvius, for a truly awe-inspiring insight into the power of nature. |
| Days 6-9 | Amalfi Coast | Enjoy rocky coastlines, azure seas and clear blue skies from the picture-perfect town of Sorrento. This has been a favourite tourist destination for at least 200 years and it's easy to see why. Walk along the 'Footpath of the Gods' for breathtaking views, and perhaps take a ferry to the Isle of Capri to listen out for the songs of the mythical Sirens. There is plenty of free time to relax in a sidewalk cafe and soak up the lazy atmosphere of the famed Amalfi Coast. |
