Days 1-2KolkataBengal's busy capital is now a modern cultural centre with a touch of traditional zest.
Days 3-4DarjeelingSee rolling hills covered in green tea plantations, and enjoy our own mountain views on a sunrise visit to the area's highest point.
Day 5PellingHead deeper into the Himalayan region to the mountain hamlet of Pelling, travelling through spectacular scenery alongside the Rangeet River.
Day 6Khechepori LakeThe best way to explore this charming region is by foot. Take a short walk to the Sanga Choeling, the oldest monastery in Sikkim, and spend the night camped by the serene Khechepori Lake under a rich forest cover.
Day 7YuksomWander downhill to Lepchas to meet the villagers and see their traditional huts before continuing on to Youksom.
Day 8Kwezing HomestaySpend the morning visiting some of Sikkim's most important monasteries before heading to our homestay. This is a very special opportunity to learn about the traditional customs of the Sikkimese people.
Days 9-10GangtokThe Rumtek Dharma Chakra Centre was built in 1960 as a replica of the Tsurphu Monastery in Tibet. It is now the seat of the 17th Karmapa, the supreme spiritual head of the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. The Namgyal Institute of Tibetology is definitely worth a visit.
Days 11-12KalimpongThere's plenty of time to shop in this well known handicraft centre. This bazaar town has a colourful history including rajas, Bhutanese and of course the British.
Day 13KolkataAn overnight train journey to Kolkata brings us to the end of the journey.
