Day 1CasablancaArrive in Casablanca early morning. Met, assisted and transferred to your hotel. Orientation. Rest, refresh and relax.

City tour of Casablanca. Visit the Hassan II Mosque, which is the second largest mosque, the tallest religious structure in the world and named after a former Moroccan king. Stop by the Royal Palace, the Villa des Artes museum, and the Borj Sidi Mohammed, an 18th century fort built against Portugese raids.

DRIVE TO RABAT Rabat is the capital of Morocco and the second most important city after Casablanca. The tour includes Rabat, Hassan Tower, Bab er Rouah ("Door of Winds"), Royal Palace, Dar el Makhzen art gallery, Chellah Necropolis, Sala Colonia, Mohammed V mausoleum, the archaeological museum, Oudayas museum (of Moroccan Arts), and the Museum of Antiquities.

Day 4ErfoudContinue to Midely and Erfoud. Cross the fertile plains beyond Fez and continue through the Middle Atlas mountain range. We stop at the Azrouan handcraft center en route, then in the small town of Midelt for lunch.

Continuing on we cross the Ziz River, passing rows of sky-scraping palm trees and fortified villages before reaching our hotel in Erfoud late in the day.

Day 5MerzougaOur day begins early with a sunrise excursion to the breathtakingly beautiful sand dunes at Merzouga, on the edge of the Sahara.

In the enormous silence, we watch the sun climb over the desert, then take a camel ride along the dunes. We visit the holy city of Rissani, with its 18th century ksar, a virtually impenetrable warren of alleys; and the ruins of Ksar Abbar fortress.

Also, visit Sijilmassa Ruins, folkloric dance, and a tent night in Merzouga.

Day 6OurzazateThe day features one beautiful scene after another, including the village of Tineghir, a stunning mountain oasis rising on a series of riverside terraces lush with palm trees;

and the spectacular 984-foot Todra Gorge, home to a variety of rare bird and plant species. Visit El Kelaa des Mgouna, known for its roses, then set out on the fabled "Route of a Thousand Kasbahs" ancient caravan route.
